Case: Customer needs to move a 320lb rear axle from one location to another every 45 seconds, 24 hours per day, 6 days per week with no coffee breaks. Safely.

Solution: Design a cell with a KUKA KR270 R2900 Ultra Robot Arm to make the transfer:

Process:

Station 1:

  1. Pallet arrives in station
  2. Sensors detect
    1. Pallet present
    2. Pallet in correct orientation
    3. Frame present
  3. Pallet is lift and located
  4. Pallet is contained
  5. Robot moves to clamp position
  6. EOAT uses sensors to validate frame present
  7. EOAT clamps frame using 2 sensors to validate
  8. Robot lifts and clears frame from pallet
  9. Robot flips the frame over while traversing the space to Station 1
  10. Robot waits at Station 1 pounce position

Station 2:

  1. Pallet arrives in station
  2. Sensors detect
    1. Pallet present
    2. Pallet in correct orientation
    3. No frame present
  3. Pallet is lift and located
  4. Pallet is contained
  5. Robot moves to unclamp position
  6. Position is validated with 2 sensors
  7. EOAT unclamps part
  8. Robot clears frame and moves away
  9. EOAT returns to pick orientation
  10. Robot waits at Station 2 pounce
